Year 3 Visit Stephenson Railway Museum

Year 3 visited the Stephenson Railway Museum in North Tyneside as an introduction to their History unit all about George Stephenson and the growth of the railways.  They learned about how George and his son Robert invented different steam trains and changed railways across the whole country. They looked at different trains from the last 250 years and learned the names and function of each part. They spent time drawing the Killingworth Billy train, before inventing their own trains of the future.
