Year 1 Visit The Laing Art Gallery

Year 1 went for a trip to the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle to complete their Art topic on printmaking.  They looked at different paintings in the Northern Spirit exhibition and sketched some interesting details. The children took part in a workshop creating their own individual print blocks. They used a pencil to draw a design into a foam sheet and then used printing ink to cover the foam using a roller and printed it onto paper. The children were also able to have their lunch in the Gallery which was very exciting!
